Jacqueline Fowler wins RTS Craft & Design Award for Poldark

Company News December 2, 2015

Mammoth are immensely proud to announce that Poldark‘s Jacqueline Fowler has won the 2014-2015 Royal Television Award Craft & Design Award for Make Up Design – Drama!

Jacqueline was an integral part of the show’s success, bringing an extraordinary attention to detail, characterful styles and supplying the whole production with period accurate wigs that brought our ball scenes to life and delivered real quality on screen. Even with historical accuracy, Jacqueline still brought out the natural beauty of our entire main cast, but she was careful to make sure there was real grubbiness to those characters that toiled away in manual jobs.

Her work with character and story was exceptional; Demelza’s story took her from being mistaken for a boy, to a blossoming beauty and Jacquie did an excellent job of letting Eleanor’s natural beauty grow on the audience over a number of episodes. Ross Poldark’s every mood was displayed through his hair, so that we could see when he was making an effort at respectability and when he was sick of the gentry. It is further testament to Jacqueline’s work in character that “Poldark’s Hair” has it’s own Twitter profile‎.
