Aidan Turner wins Broadcasting Press Guild’s ‘Breakthrough Award’ for Mammoth Shows

Company News March 15, 2016

The Theatre Royal on Drury Lane once again played host to The Broadcasting Press Guild Awards this year and Mammoth Screen is delighted for Aidan Turner who came away with the ‘Breakthrough Award’ for his titular role as Captain Ross Poldark in Poldark (a Mammoth Screen production for BBC1) and as Philip Lombard in And Then There Were None (a Mammoth Screen, Agatha Christie Productions and A&E Television Networks production for BBC1.)

The Guild, founded in 1974, is comprised of journalists who specialise in covering television, radio and the media and Aidan follows in the recent footsteps of Olivia Coleman (Rev, Exile), Jamie Dornan (The Fall) and Jack & Harry Williams (writers of The Missing) in scooping this prestigious acknowledgment of his ability.

Aidan has just finished shooting Series 2 of Poldark, Mammoth’s adaptation of Winston Graham’s Cornish saga, penned for BBC One by Debbie Horsfield (Cutting It.)  If you missed Aidan in either Poldark 1 or And Then There Were None you can purchase the DVDs here:
